‘Star Wars’-Loving Newlyweds, Prepare to Freak Out Over This Insane New Disney Hotel
We know plenty of couples who love incorporating Star Wars into their wedding day (cuff links, cake toppers and more), but what about those who don’t want to leave their obsession with Luke and Leia to just their wedding day? Enter Disney’s new brilliant plan, unveiled this weekend at the D23 Expo in Anaheim: a Star Wars-themed immersive resort hotel at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, which will be part of Disney’s 360 vacation concept.
“It’s unlike anything that exists today,” Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, says in a statement. “From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story! You’ll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire. Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories, and adventures that unfold all around you. It is 100% immersive, and the story will touch every single minute of your day, and it will culminate in a unique journey for every person who visits.”
Consider the bar officially set extremely high. Additional outlets like TechCrunch reported that all of the luxury resort’s employees will be in costume and character. Guests will receive storylines of their own, and the window views will only show images of space.
If that’s standard for every guest, can you imagine the perks given to newlyweds on their honeymoon? The sky’s the limit—literally. Sadly, there’s no word on an opening date or pricing for the hotel yet, but Disney also announced a new 14-acre Star Wars area, called Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, coming to Disney Land and then Walt Disney World in 2019.
